Many of my readers have asked me to answer a few questions to help them out.  I will detail a list of FAQ’s below that I get on a regular basis and will answer them here for everyone to read. I started online a few years ago, and though it was a hard road and a steep learning curve, I am glad to have veered others in the right direction so they don’t have to make the same mistakes I did. I run this site and several others and I am on track to finish 3 more in the coming months.

What is your philosophy?

HONESTY! There are too many scammers out there taking advantage of people who are looking for a break. You will never win this way. If you dont offer good, honest value to your readers, you will never make money. Stick to this philosophy and you will never go wrong.

Where did you start learning about making money online?

My first book which helped me to learn how to work online was Honest Riches. I was drawn to it because of the honest, caring nature of the author, Holly Mann. Holly is a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her newborn son. She took the measly little amount that she had and turned it into $12,000 in the first 4 months of working online. In the last few years, we have become friends, and she is one of the most wonderful people I know. She gives away everything that she knows in her books and she doesn’t care what anyone says about it. She is always ready to help anyone in need.

What tools do you use, Free or Paid?

There are a few free tools I like, of course it is hard to find everything you need with the freebies, but for some people it is a necessity to do things that dont cost money, and i completely understand that.

FREE TOOLS

Keyword Research – For keyword research, I like to use the Google Keyword tool. it displays monthly tracking for keywords in Google as well as estimated PPC values, etc. Make sure if you are targeting a specific longer (long-tail) phrase to change the drop down menu from “broad” to “exact” to get a better estimation of search volume.

Another great keyword research tool is from www.SEObook.com . You can access it here Keyword Research Tool.  I like it because it cross references results and accesses more than one search engine.

Competitive Analysis – I like www.quantcast.com to assess my competitors statistics. If the site you are analyzing is not quantified you can still get estimated values, demographics, and other data.

I also use www.yahoo.com for link analysis for my websites and my competitors. Just type into the search box linkdomain:yoursite (type your website or one you are analyzing in place of “yoursite”). This will give you an estimate of the internal and external links com to the website. It also displays the websites that are linking to it.

And yet another one of my favorite websites is www.seomoz.org. You can find some great free tools on this site for linking, page importance, as well as a downloadable Firefox toolbar. Click on this page to see the free SEO tools available.

PAID TOOLS

These are the tools I recommend as I know how great they are and trust the people behind them. These paid tools will not only make your life easier, they will help you to get a quicker return on your investment as your work will be of a higher quality.

How long does it take to make money working on the internet?

This is a common question, one which is best answered by you and you alone.  My answer to you is “How much time and dedication are you willing to give to it?” It is definitely possible to make money online, it just takes a desire to learn and a willingness to go for it. Another recommendation is to learn, learn, learn from those that have gone before you. The people that I discuss and link to on this site have done the work for you. I trust them as they have taught me personally and through their books and resources. Take advantage of these extraordinary people and everything they have to offer!
